North Mississippi Shockwave was established in 1998 as a non-profit, community-based swim team. Shockwave’s mission is to encourage young people to be physically active by participating in a competitive program that encourages discipline, dedication, and hard work.

The Team competes regularly at both the state and local levels. Shockwave holds seven State Championship titles in Mississippi, including most recently, the 2009 short course State Championship title.

Community support and family commitment have allowed the program to grow steadily through the years. Shockwave’s roster now includes swimmers from Lafayette, Panola, and Grenada counties. The program has also encouraged the development of competitive swim teams at both the Oxford and Lafayette County High Schools.
