Dr. Gispen
Assistant Coach: Dr. Jeannie Gispen

Dr. Gispen swam competitively from ages 10-18 for Hanging Moss Swim Club in Jackson, MS. She was proficient in all strokes, but mainly competed in backstroke and fly. She went on to swim for Radcliff College, sister school to Harvard. Dr. Gispen is our "Friday After Practice Water Polo Referee and team mate". She was introduced to water polo in college, and played in her junior and senior year on a club team coached by guys from the Harvard swim team.

The highlight of her water polo career occurred when she played for the University of North Carolina men's (club) team during her third year of medical school at Duke. She accidentally "missed" an immunology lecture one Friday so she could drive with the UNC guys to Morgantown, West Virginia for a water polo tournament. She played 5 games with the UNC team and 2 games as a substitute with the West Virginia women's team. She had a blast and got lost on the dance floor till the wee hours that Saturday night. Dr. Gispen is still tireless! Some of you might also know Dr. Gispen as the mother of Fiona and Adrienne Gispen, both members of the NMS SWAT Team and loving wife to her husband, Kees, a potential Masters SWAT recruit.
